While Ethan was here. I made cloth prefold diapers in infant size. The regular ones I have were a bit to long (having to fold them over in front AND back). Wulf's 'sister' Michelle had brought me some garb and fabric over since she's moving and cleaning house, and no longer planning on being active in the SCA (I'm not sure I am either OR Amtgard we shall see) Anyways, in the box of fabric was what felt like an old hospital blanket. I also looked like it'd been tea dyed. But it was loosely woven enough that the
Snappi would attach to it. I also had some diaper flannel from a looooong time ago. Like when Ian was gestating a long time ago. So I cut the flannel up, used it as inner layers for the prefolds and serged the edges, then zig-zag'd the middle of the prefolds so the layers wouldn't move.
Here you can see that my 8 prefolds are thicker than the 8 storebought prefolds, and in the second picture, you can see that I made them varying lengths, (the store bought prefolds are behind the ones I made)
( prefold pictures )And the diapers after washing hanging on the clothes line on the back porch, set up on the patio cover where the kids normally dry their towels.
( prefolds on the tiny clothes line )Then, just because it amuses me...
( me wearing the pink striped moby wrap )This cracks me up, yes, she's wearing one of the diapers I made, but she's PISSED and looks like a grinning pig (really she's just winding up for a good holler) Gramma says she's Queen of the Dirty Looks (just like my mom's sister was)
( Wulf holding a pissed Kaia in her purple pocket diaper )AND.... some of the diapers she's worn in the last two days (didn't want to take a panoramic view, so the diapers go off the camera screen in both directions)
